Base flow decomposition for complex moving objects in linear hydrodynamics: Application to helix-shaped flagellated microswimmers

چکیده

The motion of microswimmers in complex flows is ruled by the interplay between swimmer propulsion and dynamics induced fluid velocity field. Here we study a chiral microswimmer whose provided spinning helical tail with respect to its body simple shear flow. Thanks an efficient computational strategy that allowed us simulate thousands different trajectories, show shape dramatically affects swimmer's motion. In dominated regime, swimmers carrying elliptical several Jeffery-like (tumbling) trajectories depending on their initial configuration. As torque increases, progressive regularization observed until, converge same final trajectory independently Overall, our results helix presents much richer variety usually studied circular tails.

Hydrodynamics of flagellated microswimmers near free-slip interfaces

The hydrodynamics of a flagellated microorganism is investigated when swimming close to a planar free-slip surface by means of numerical solutions of the Stokes equations obtained via a Boundary Element Method. Depending on the initial condition, the swimmer can either escape from the free-slip surface or collide with the boundary. Interestingly, the microorganism does not exhibit a stable orbi...

a new type-ii fuzzy logic based controller for non-linear dynamical systems with application to 3-psp parallel robot

abstract type-ii fuzzy logic has shown its superiority over traditional fuzzy logic when dealing with uncertainty. type-ii fuzzy logic controllers are however newer and more promising approaches that have been recently applied to various fields due to their significant contribution especially when the noise (as an important instance of uncertainty) emerges. during the design of type- i fuz...

Controlled Decomposition Strategy for Complex Spatial Objects

The efficient query processing for complex spatial objects is one of most challenging requirements in many non-traditional applications such as geographic information systems, computer-aided design and multimedia databases. The performance of spatial query processing can be improved by decomposing a complex object into a small number of simple components. This paper investigates a natural trade...

Resistance to Flow in a V-Shaped Bottom Channel

Water flow in open channels is always subject to the resistance to flow and energy dissipation. For design purposes, one of the needed variables is the hydraulic resistance coefficient. For this mean, the influence of cross-sectional shape together with secondary flow cells and lateral distribution of true boundary shear stress have not yet been fully explored. This paper surveys the number of ...
